I made a full confirmed reservation with Upkeep Truck Rental approximately i month in advance of needing a 16' moving truck and a trailer to carry a car across. Approximately 23 hours prior option up I got a call from the local rental office telling me that they did not accept a trailer for me! I called the national office and they said they would look for a trailer, but that it would be "difficult" to go a driver to deliver a trailer and and so accept to drive back to their own offices... About 2 hours afterward I was told that there were no trailers available within 150 miles and that basically I was upwardly the creek without a paddle and could telephone call i of their competitors. Penske got my a truck and trailer that afternoon! In my book Budget Truck Rental is not going to follow through and they certainly don't care about service!

Renter beware. We made our rental reservation months in accelerate, only to be warned by the person at the pick up location that Upkeep is notorious for allowing rental reservations through their corporate site and not having any logistical expertise on delivering the truck to that location. If the business owner at the pick up location wouldn't have warned us we would not have had a moving truck. I tin can't stress how of import it is to find another truck company to protect yourself from this situation. Budget needs to modify their system hither...very unprofessional.

If I could give this company one star, I would. Worst experience ever & a total waste of money. My boyfriend & I rented a truck and trailer 5 months agone & are still dealing with customer service. Upon picking upwardly the truck/trailer, the engine light was on (worker said it was fine & there was no other truck to hire so nosotros had to go with it). The worker kept telling united states to get insurance (kinda weird how pushy they were being as if they knew the trailer would have issues).
When picking upward trailer, the worker was blowing up one of the tires (thought cipher of it, maybe just needed more air). After just three hours of driving, the tire (that the worker was double checking & blowing up) on the trailer completely blew upward & started smoking. My young man is a mechanic & was able to tell that every other tire was brand new except the one that blew up. He contacted road-side assistance through Budget who left him on the side of the road for two hours earlier contacting him dorsum & then however took another two hours before nosotros gave up & decided to go to a nearby mechanic because we were on a deadline. Who knows how long Budget would have taken.
Nosotros went to a nearby mechanic who told us that we should have never been allowed to drive this trailer. The tired was and then one-time & the trailer was missing a necessary piece to even employ. We contacted Budget again who still did nada to help so we decided to keep driving the trailer on only 3 tires because we had no choice & no extra money to spend. Once once again my beau is a mechanic & knows y'all can nevertheless bulldoze on three tires & he constantly stopped to make sure at that place was no bug throughout the drive. Trailer looked the same from start to finish.
Eventually WEEKS later after Budget tried charging usa extra for calling road-side aid & non existence there when they arrived (6 hours afterwards apparently), we had to spend days arguing & fighting that THEY were in the wrong. Totally unprofessional. Eventually we got the money back for just the trailer rental. Now it's 5 months afterward & they're trying to accuse usa $1200 for trailer repairs (ISSUES THAT WERE There BEFORE OUR Drive). Total freaking scam & absolute worst visitor e'er. Go anywhere else. It's worth paying a little more than to not have to bargain with all this **.

Never trust this visitor. I had booked a truck for Saturday 12, 2002 to exist picked upward from New Jersey, Elizabeth. On Fri 11, a few minutes earlier the end of working day, they called to tell me that they won't have a truck for me. No excuses, no explanations. They recommended calling Budget Truck rental to find a solution. I did, and a guy (mumbling) told me that someone would call me within 2 hours. No one e'er called me. In the concurrently prices have gone through the roof. I was trying to observe another car through their website but the map was non working for mobiles. STAY Away.

I cannot stress this statement plenty: DO Not Utilize Budget. We RESERVED two vehicles two weeks before our move; one 16 ft for article of furniture and whatnot, and a cargo van for our minor animals. When we arrived, nosotros were told that they needed to substitute a 12 ft truck for the van which was non acceptable. We NEEDED the van for our pocket-sized animals and their cages. We turned down the 12 ft van, and ended upwards borrowing a small van from a friend. We were using a credit card to become the 16 ft truck, and were All the same charged a deposit. To date, that eolith has NOT been returned to united states, even though "client service" claims otherwise. Due to the fact that nosotros did not get the vehicle we RESERVED, several of our pets lost their lives during the trip.
I contacted "customer service" regarding these, and a myriad other problems with Budget, and was told that their "terms of service" do not guarantee a vehicle will be bachelor, even if information technology is reserved. That is one of the near ridiculous things I have heard in quite a while. When one RESERVES an item, and pays money for the reservation, ane would reasonably expect that item to exist available for the 24-hour interval information technology was RESERVED. That is what a RESERVATION is. Due to the lies, ineptitude, extremely unprofessional "customer service", and what I believe is credit carte du jour fraud, I intend on contacting an attorney to resolve these matters. In the concurrently, I HIGHLY propose that NOBODY uses Budget rentals in any way, shape or form. All the bad reviews exercise non lie....

I only rated it i because null was not an selection! I rented truck #**a couple of weeks ago to move piece of furniture from Illinois to Alabama. Information technology cost me a fortune to hire this truck $1265. I started my trip down I-65, and I noticed the check engine light popped up for a second time. The first fourth dimension, was when I got the truck and I had a Budget mechanic bulldoze to my business firm to fix it. This truck had 180k miles on it! Anyways, equally I started driving southward, I noticed that the interruption was horrible! I was not able to control the vehicle very well when driving around left turns or over bumps. I am guessing in that location were issues with the struts, ball joints, sway bar links or all of the to a higher place. I had to drive 40-45mph just to make sure I did not crash on the highway! Information technology was horrible.
I finally fabricated it after a xiv plus hour bulldoze. I am surprised I didn't die from a crash or a heart set on! I returned the truck in Alabama and things did not get much better from there. The service rep was unable to log into the reckoner and I had to do a bunch of follow-ups only to make sure the truck was returned. I besides had to speak to customer service to make sure they knew how dangerous truck #516263 was. I told them that this truck should be removed from their armada immediately because someone was going to dice driving it. A customer service rep named Geraldo told me he was going to have the truck serviced - I hoped he did! He also said he was going to reimburse me for my horrible experience...nearly 2 weeks later...no reimbursement! I volition never hire from BUDGET once more and I would recommend that you lot don't either!

If I could give this company zippo stars I would. I had a reservation for 4 weeks and 2 hours earlier my selection-up time, they cancel my reservation through an e-mail service with no explanation. When trying to phone call the location, they blew me off and told me to phone call client service. Client service told me ii hours to try and find something comparable with NO DISCOUNTS. This means I would have to incur extra costs because they didn't check inventory. Then now I take a moving crew, a packed house, and no truck. Went with U-Haul and was able to get a last min truck for cheaper. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY. It's actually not worth the anxiety on moving 24-hour interval.

If it'south a distance based rental then I should have been refunded my extra twenty-four hours. Also beingness that I brought it back early y'all tin rent out the shell up truck again and make more coin. If it's distance based I shouldn't have had to choose dates. I think I would spend extra money and go to your competition adjacent time.

I reserved a truck well in advance, almost a calendar month and a half in advance. I am moving from Phoenix to Texas. They called me a 24-hour interval and a half before I am scheduled to pick the truck up to let me know that my reservation will need to exist cancelled. I am a single mother on a upkeep and so this hurt me. I had to notice a different truck with a competitor and they offered to pay $250. There is no amount of coin that will cover the emotional anguish I experienced. Also $250 does not embrace the dissimilar. I had to reserve a smaller 10 human foot truck instead of 16 ft, which will not be enough room for all of my belongings.

This is the second fourth dimension I've rented a Budget Truck during the COVID-nineteen pandemic. Equally if that's not enough stress, both times I received a dirty truck, with the remnants from the last client to make clean up before I could utilize my own rental time. Add together going to the option-upwardly location and the truck non beingness available at the reserved/validated time. I had a mover with me who was tied now also tied up for an extra 1.5 hours, sitting in his hot pick-up truck in a hot parking lot waiting for Budget (Corporate/Representatives) to rectify the state of affairs. I was told it could take up to 2 hrs to receive a telephone call dorsum. I stayed at the site telling Budget this was their problem, that I reserved a truck, gave up my Visa Debit card to lock in the same and fifty-fifty got reminder emails up until the morning of the truck rental.
When the guy at the pick-upward location finally arrived on site, the truck needed to be gassed upwards, and so that was an additional wait. All I wanted to do was get my at present delayed (more stressful and added costs incurred) 24-hour interval started. I took photos of the condition of the truck. A few hours after, I dropped of the truck at the appointed location just to find that Budget associate wasn't leaving her desk, but that I was to become get the odometer reading. Turns out something was wrong with that (the mileage never changed) and somehow was charged an additional $112.00 for "additional miles." When asked how that was possible, no data was available to that rep to requite to me. Information technology was afterwards, when I saw my gas receipt for the $15.00 to height the tank off before returning the truck a day early, that I realized I had been conned.
I have fought the charges of that unabridged truck rental day, and all Upkeep could muster upwards is a $50 refund. My response was I'd rather get to small claims court, where I'd then add compensation on top of the rental refund for services that were less than professional and lacking every bit of customer service owed this single 67 year one-time retired female person with MS who was just trying to move her personal property in a new state where I had to rent help, which included Upkeep Truck Rental. You'd have idea they gave me the truck to use for free. Their entitlement pass to corruption paying consumers should exist an embarrassment to the company Budget-Avis.
What I will warn anyone reading this is...buyer beware. Spend the extra coin and get with one of the other larger truck rental options that won't care for you lot like they're doing you a big favor. You lot'll be glad y'all did. I'm sorry I didn't. Penny wise, dollar stupid. That's how I feel about using Budget simply because my AARP membership allows me to use a discount lawmaking. For the measly $38 I saved, I paid for ten fold in stress and mover overtime. I'll exist informing AARP as well. They need to know who they sponsor and nowadays to their senior population. Today I received a resolution email that said they'd credit me $80 as despite all that occurred as a paying client, I was still "able to consummate my move" in the fourth dimension allotted for the rental. This is how Budget "fixes" their internal problems.
Manifestly customers are a dime a dozen now, but at present there'll be one less senior to abuse and hopefully this review will send some who are undecided towards a more customer oriented organization/company/business organisation. I disputed the charges for the services received with my banking company as well. I hope that Budget considers their $80 settlement damages well spent, as I believe the number of negative reviews accept toll them way more than that dismal amount. My time (retired) might not be worth annihilation to big concern, but when the number of consumers that go with another rental visitor grows, peradventure they'll rethink their current rentals/claims/resolution practices.
